As part of the expedition, you’ll actively participate in Build Week, where you help empower local entrepreneurs by providing hands-on support, startup resources, and mentorship. Experience the ultimate adventure at the tip of Africa, where thrilling landscapes, vibrant wildlife, and warm communities converge. Bungee jump off the world’s tallest bridge, explore game reserves on four-wheelers, track wildlife on safari, and soar above breathtaking scenery while paragliding.
At the heart of the trip is Build Week, where you join hands with local entrepreneurs to provide essential startup resources, guidance, and mentorship. Your participation directly empowers small businesses, creating lasting impact while you explore and immerse yourself in South Africa’s natural beauty and cultural richness.

Expedition Overview
Our expeditions combine work and play in the most magical way. They are designed to create a life-altering experience for all involved. Travelers will explore and learn from the country and its people in unique ways as they are challenged physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This is accomplished as they create sustainable businesses, build friendships with the people, explore the unique beauty of the country, and complete daring high adventures.
Our expeditions are powerful catalysts that empower change, fulfillment, and direction in becoming the best person you can become while helping others do the same. You will find deep connections as you undertake your expedition.
10 Day Itinerary
Our expeditions are designed to maximize your time away from home. Expeditions typically kickoff at the beginning of a weekend and run approximately 10 days, to minimize time away from work, school, and other commitments.

Daily activities will look different country by country, but all expeditions will consist of days dedicated to business creation and service, as well as adventure and exploration. Each country brings unique people, activities and sights but all base expeditions will include an itinerary similar to this:
Day 1: Arrive. Explore Local Sites
Day 2: Adventure & Meet the People
Day 3/4/5: Business Build Days
Day 6: Cultural Celebration
Day 7: High Adventure Activity
Day 8/9: Adventure Days
Day 10: Souvenirs & Depart
The Package
Each Expedition Package includes:
-Trip leaders and translators.
-All necessary in-country transport and housing accommodations.
-Most meals provided each day.
-High adventure activities, excursions, and cultural activities.
-All necessary connections, guides, security, etc.
-Business building guidelines and support.
-Flight Booking Services (though airfare is not included)

What is not included:
-Any expenses outside the scope of the expedition such as snacks and extra food, souvenirs, and personal supplies.
-Flights, upgrades, and changes or itinerary changes (not recommended).
Entrepreneur Empowerment
Travelers from each trip will work together with their trip leaders before the expedition to connect with the entrepreneurs they will empower. Travelers will also work together to plan how they will execute their vision to work with the entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses. Each expedition is different and unique, customized to the skill set of the travelers and the needs of the entrepreneurs.

Obontu will continue to support the businesses with ongoing financial training.

Past businesses have included: poultry farms, nail salons, bakeries, jewelry shops, yoga clubs, photography studios, videography editors, calligraphy sign makers, roller-skate clubs, ukulele clubs, soccer trainers, pork farms, ASL learners, child foundations, and more!
